The SSE Hydro
European Artistic Gymnastics Championships
Host venue of the 2015 World Gymnastics Championships and the 2014 Commonwealth Games, the stunning SSE Hydro has witnessed plenty of special sporting moments over the years and will help to create them once again as Gymnastics host venue for Glasgow 2018. This stunning arena, already synonymous with the Glasgow cityscape, offers fans a first-class view of the action as the best male and female Gymnasts in Europe perform right here in Scotland.
The venue has a variety of accessible seating options available for spectators.These include:
Wheelchair accessible areas- Each purchased wheelchair accessible ticket will be entitled to one complimentary companion seat next to the wheelchair space.
Easy Access Seating for spectators who, for whatever reason, would like to be seated near the entrance/exit or toilet facilities. Where eligible a companion ticket will be complimentary.
Anywhere in venue seating for spectators who don’t need easy access seating but require a companion; where eligible the companion ticket will be complimentary.
Eligibility for complimentary companion ticket is based on ticket holder having one of the following items
- DLA/PIP award at middle or higher rate for care/mobility
- DLA/PIP award at middle or high rate for care/mobility
- National Entitlement card with the carer element C1
- Recognised companion cards for cinema/theatre
- Registered blind/deaf
The venue also has accessible toilets and an induction hearing loop system.
Assistance dogs are welcome in the venue and a dog rest area will be available.
A limited number of blue badge parking spaces will be available at a later date.
There are a limited number of wheelchairs that spectators can borrow for the duration of their visit on a first come, first served basis. These can be booked in advance via a form on the SEC website. Wheelchairs can only be borrowed one day at a time.

Bus Routes: Coach operators run services to Glasgow’s Buchanan Bus Station from throughout the UK. Visit Traveline Scotland for details. The 100 Riversider service operated by SPT runs between George Square (north) in Glasgow city centre and the SEC and Riverside Museum (south) and back every 30 minutes. View timetable for details.
Two other bus services operate to and from the Scottish Event Campus, stopping on Lancefield Street near the Clyde Arc bridge, only 2 minutes’ walk from the venues. Full details are available at X19 Stagecoach timetable and McGills 23 service timetable.
Nearest car park: The venue has a multi storey car park which will be open for all patrons of the SEC, there is no exclusive parking for event ticketholders.
