Terrific Vantage Points
For spectators of these free elite cycling events, Bearsden, Milngavie and Bishopbriggs offer terrific vantage points, with direct rail links from Glasgow and plenty of cafés and restaurants for refreshments.
Popular Mugdock Country Park, near Milngavie, has castles, a courtyard and wonderful walks and, for the more intrepid, Milngavie is the start of the stunning West Highland Way to Fort William.
Picturesque Clachan of Campsie and Lennoxtown are great starting points to explore the Campsies and see the cyclists in action during Glasgow 2018.
The area boasts Roman heritage, with a Roman bath house in Bearsden and the Antonine Wall passing through. The industrial heritage of the Forth and Clyde Canal offers towpaths for cyclists and walkers to explore.
