What’s happening at Festival 2018 on Friday 10 August
Civic Canteen at 40 John Street has a programme of workshops and events that share delicious food from noon to 7.30pm.
Go to Shuttle Street from noon to 4pm to enjoy Greyfriars Garden Open Day. Set in a magical space in the heart of the medieval city, vegetables and flowers are grown by local gardeners and there’s a stunning wildflower meadow. Look out for haiku poems displayed around the gardens.
Join in the Family Afternoon Fun at Merchant Square from noon to 4pm when Merchant City Festival teams up with Edinburgh International Children’s Festival. There are hands-on arts activities, live music and interactive fun.
At 1pm and 4pm look out for Urban Astronaut in Brunswick Street South, a dance performance combining stunning design and storytelling.
Go to Hutcheson Street at 3pm and Merchant Square at 9.15pm to catch dynamic dance moves in the performance When We Cried Confetti.
There are more dance performances at Merchant Square from 5-8pm, showcasing exciting work from Scottish and international companies.
Wander the streets to see impromptu performances and live music at the Brunswick Stage.
